Simply Betty Progressive Challenge

So, it's been quite a while since I posted. One word: Life. Oh well, I'm planning to change that and post more often. Today's post is all about Simply Betty Stamps and their progressive challenge.

Each month we get a free stamp to use, provided we meet all the expectations from the previous month. Nothing major, but we're getting a free stamp, so naturally, SBS would like us to spread the love around so others can discover their awesome stamps, too!

Today I'm using Peppermint Betty, which can be found in the online store HERE. Isn't she gorgeous!?!? The challenge was to not use red anywhere, so I used pinks (RV29 and 25) for her lips, the large candy cane, and the frosting on the cake. I used another lighter RV but I can't remember which one. The purples are all from the V series, the darkest being V17 and the lightest is V02. I would give you all the exact markers if I could, but I put them all back with the rest of the collection and forgot to write down which ones I used. Oopsy!

The flowers are mostly Wild Orchid, but I also used a little green one that I got from Petal Lu. You can join her FB group  (she does monthly challenges as well!) Lucinda makes gorgeous flowers of all kinds in every colour imaginable... all by hand!

The background papers are sponged with Distress Oxides over stencils, and then I added a couple strips of designer paper for some contrast and interest. The paper is from BoBunny. The actual paper that I coloured on is Catherine Pooler paper, and I coloured using Copic markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to pop over to Simply Betty's FB group and join in the challenge next month!

Birthday Challenge at 7 Kids!

Hey Kids! It's time for a new challenge over at 7 Kids! The theme is Birthdays, and the Design Team have all been posting our projects throughout the day. Pop over to the Customer Create group on FB to see them all and join in on the fun!

If you're already in the group, you would have already seen my WIP (work in progress) shots, but I'll add several of them here so you can see how everything came together. My image is from Stamping Bella - isn't she adorable?!?! Our Stamping Bella stamps fly out of the store like hot cakes, so this particular stamp is no longer in stock; however, there are several adorable ones to choose from here!

I used Copic Markers, which you can get in the 7 Kids store here. You can also pick up refills for the markers you already have! I've just started running out of several of my colours and got my refills for a great price! The paper I've used for colouring is Catherine Pooler premium white cardstock, which is, happily, back in stock here. We were out for a little while because it's become quite popular. Personally, I find it works just as well as the Copic Xpress it paper that I also love!

It was really fun colouring up the pink frosting. It just looks so yummy! And here's the final project completed. The lighting is a little off, but you get the idea.

Thanks for stopping by! What's your favourite kind of cake and/or frosting?

New Digital Stamps at 7 Kids!

I'm SOOOO excited to share that 7 Kids has branched out into digital stamps! The first few have already hit the store here. I've used Carl the Crab, Athena the Seahorse, and Clive the Clownfish on my card. The backgroung stamp Mermaid Castle is from Make it Crafty. The images and background are all coloured up with Copic markers.

Aren't they cute!? Swing by and pick up some sea critters of your own!

P.s. the Ocean Challenge ends today over on the 7 Kids FB group.

7 Kids Ocean Challenge

My first challenge post for 7 Kids Craft Store! So excited! Our theme for the next 2 weeks is oceans. I chose Stamping Bella's Pisces from the Zodia series. She's so gorgeous, and perfect for an ocean theme! Also stamped on my page are Capricorn, which you can get HERE and Gemini, which unfortunately is no longer available in the store.

I coloured the image with Copics, going for an ombre effect on the top. After she was coloured, I then fussy cut her with scissors that are WAY too large for fussy cutting LOL! If anyone has ideas of good scissors I could get... please let me know in the comments!

Since I just got this EPIC planner from the 7 Kids Epic Weekend, I decided it would be fun to decorate a page. I used Distress Oxide inks to create the ocean and the sandy bottom, then I cut out and coloured some seaweed using miscellaneous dies from my stash. The bubbles I drew with a multi-liner and a white paint pen. The little fishy is from a Greeting Farm set that I can't remember the name of.

Here's one that's a little more close up.

7 Kids Design Team and another ATC

Well, Gang! Lots of changes happening these days! As you probably already know, I "lost my mojo" there for a while: it wasn't a good time for me emotionally the past several months, but I'm back on track! I was able to go to Idaho for an EPIC crafty retreat, and that was what helped me get back to colouring and creating again.

Thank you SO MUCH to Kelly Neis and her company, 7 Kids Craft store, for putting on the retreat, and to Jammie Clark for having me at her place and letting me use all her crafty supplies! As a direct result of that weekend, I was asked to join the 7 Kids Design Team, beginning in July. I am so honoured and excited!

My first project is an ATC created with this adorable kitty stamp by CC Designs called Cutie Cats. I coloured him up with my copics and then fussy cut him out for the card.

For those who don't know, an ATC is an Artist Trading Card and is only 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches in size. I used Catherine Pooler paper, which you can also get from the store (and there's a 30% off sale happening RIGHT NOW, but only until the 4th). I just noticed, however, that it's currently out of stock. It's fabulous paper for colouring with Copics. Personally, I've found it to be pretty comparable to Copic Xpress It card stock.

First I pencilled in my background, then I traced it with my black multiliners and coloured with copics. And here's the final result! Thanks so much to Amy Young for inspiring me to try my own backgrounds!

Thanks for stopping by! If you'd like to join us for bi-weekly challenges over at 7 Kids, follow THIS LINK to our FB page! And don't forget about the 30% off sale going on right now until tomorrow, July 4th!

My very first ATC and 7 Kids Sunshine Challenge

I've heard a lot about ATC's over the past few months, but I never actually tried making one until now! What is an ATC, you ask? It's an Artist Trading Card and the defining feature is that it's only 2.5" x 3.5" - so basically a miniature one-sided card. There are all kinds of swaps of these little guys, and it's super fun to have the art of a bunch of different people at hand for inspiration or just because they're awesome and fun to look at! 7 Kids Customers Create FB group recently had a swap, but I missed that one. After seeing all the gorgeous little cards, I felt I NEEDED to try this for myself!

The stamp set I used is Little Mermaids by The Greeting Farm from the 7 Kids Craft Store, which, by the way, has practically EVERYTHING you could possibly want for creating beautiful cards, scrapbook pages, planners, etc. I was going to link the actual stamp set, but it looks like it's no longer available, but check out all the other cuties from the Greeting Farm HERE.

I used a crazy amount of Copic markers for this tiny little card!
By the way, you can get Copics from the 7 KIDS store, too!

And speaking of 7 KIDS... their FB page is holding a challenge currently (tomorrow is the deadline, so better hurry!) with the theme of Sunshine! Here's a link to the challenge if you'd like to join in! I'll be entering this little card into the challenge as soon as I'm finished typing up this post :)

Have a fantastic day! Hopefully it's nice and sunny wherever you are! Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's Been a While!

Hello, dear Followers! As you've probably noticed, it's been nearly 2 months since my last post. This has been due to some personal issues and things beyond my control. With those issues came a very severe lack of "mojo" which I'm still trying to get back. Hopefully this is the first of many projects in the near future!

And so, without further ado, Here's my Design Team project for Challenge #138 on the Creatalicious blog! The theme is Anything Goes with the option of adding a Sentiment!

For my project, I used Flying Elf, a beautiful image by a company I've only just discovered - Fabrika Fantasy! What a gorgeous image, eh? I coloured her and her Dragon Pal up with Copic Markers, then created a sky background with the blue marker B00

Adding the background really made the image pop, even though there is still a lot of white behind it. After trimming the edges, I glued it onto a  black die cut border from Gina Marie Dies. The sentiment "Sometimes we all just need a little Magic" is from a retired Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set called Galadriel, by artist Annie Rodrigue.

The lovely flowers and silver spiral stamen I purchased from 7 Kids Craft Store and are made by Wild Orchid Crafts. They carry quite a few varieties of flowers in various colours and sizes, as well as several different colours of the spiral stamens.

Thank you so much for stopping by! As always, I've linked to the various stores and challenges - all you have to do is click on the coloured words. And speaking of challenges - here are the ones I'm entering this card into.
